Schubert Provisions, a plant-based grocery store situated at 353 Washington Street in Braintree, opened on Saturday, August 5 to much excitement from locals who love plants and organic produce and pantry items.
The store says it strives to give Braintree options that are healthier for their bodies and the planet. Visitors can stock up on home goods and pantry items that are either locally sourced, organic, or natural (but all are plant-based.)
Shoppers can bring their own reusable containers or use provided bags and containers to shop the bulk section that offers beans, grains, spices, herbs, and more. The shower can get a refresh at Schubert Provisions too, with their selection of shampoo, conditioners, and body wash.
Quincy residents Elizabeth and Keith Schubert are the brains behind the business, according to a Facebook post. The owners have a background in the food industry, with eight years of restaurant ownership under their belts.
The store will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
